FIREFOX EXTENSIONS PDF Print E-mail

Firefox is the ICS team's favorite web browser due to its built-in features and extensibility (not to mention its track record of significantly less flaws than Internet Explorer).  Here are some of the ICS team's favorite Firefox extensions (small add-ons that add new functionality) which can make your browsing more productive and more fun.

About This Site -  Find out all kinds of information about the current site including stats, meta information, linked pages, etc.  This extension will most likely be useful to web developers or people interested in web development.

CoLT -  "CoLT makes it easy to copy either a hyperlink's text or both the link and the link's text (in a format you specify)."

CustomizeGoogle -  "CustomizeGoogle is a Firefox extension that enhances Google search results by adding extra information (like links to Yahoo, Ask.com, MSN etc) and removing unwanted information (like ads and spam). All features are optional and easily configured."

Download Statusbar -  "View and manage downloads from a tidy statusbar - without the download window getting in the way of your web browsing."

Forecastfox -  Allows a multi-day forecast to be viewable from any toolbar or from the statusbar.  Click on a day for a detailed forecast.  The extension is highly customizable.

FullerScreen -  "This extension enhances the Full Screen mode into a really full screen mode, hiding the remaining toolbars and statusbar and making them visible again when the mouse pointer hits an edge of the screen."

Gmail Notifier -  If you have a Gmail account but do not have it configured in a e-mail client (such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird), this extension will allow you to monitor your mail for new messages while browsing without having to separately login to the Gmail page.

IE Tab - With the click of a button, this extension allows you to view the current web page in Internet Explorer but within a Firefox tab. This extensions will mostly benefit web developers due to the need to verify their web pages appear properly in both browsers.

NoScript -  This tool provides extra protection when browsing by allowing JavaScript, Java and other executable content to run only on trusted domains which you have designated.

Page Saver -  This extension allows you to save a screen-shot or screen-capture of a web page.  You can capture an entire page or just the visible portion.

Stealther -  "If there are times you want to surf the web without leaving a trace in your local computer, then this is the right extension for you."
